Is LinkedIn down?

An uptick in reports was picked up by the Down Detector site just after 10am GMT / 5am ET on Thursday, December 12.

More than 900 reports were noted in the UK, but none were mentioned in the US.

But some other European countries have cited issues.

This could suggest that the outage is not global and limited to the UK and neighbouring countries.

Screenshots shared by affected users show an error page reading: "Something went wrong. Refresh the page."

LinkedIn's service status page does not currently show any problems.

Nor has the company spoken out on X, formerly known as Twitter.

How did LinkedIn users react?

LinkedIn users vented about the issue on social media, just as European users start their working day.

"Is #LinkedIn down? Can’t access my profile !" one wrote.

"Are you able to access your Linkedin? seems servers are down," another said.

A third added: "It seems many users are experiencing that our accounts have being “taken down”?"

What caused the outage?

LinkedIn has yet to say what caused the issue - or that there is even an issue to start with.

You can keep track of updates via their X / Twitter page, @LinkedInHelp.
