During the show both hosts threw to Carol Kirkwood who was standing by to present the weather.

Carol, 61, reliably informed the duo and viewers that the rain would soon stop.

Replying, Sally said: "We're ready for it Carol."

Jon then confessed that he didn't bring his winter jacket to work with him.

He explained: "I'm glad you are. I don't have my coat with me."

Jon's admission left Sally confused as she quizzed the star on why he didn't bring his jacket.

Hen then told her: "I've only got my Gillet."

Sally was left laughing before Jon said: "Well that was a terrible admission to make in public wasn't it."

Keen to forget the conversation, he added: "Right let's move on."

Meanwhile, two BBC Breakfast stars sparked concern from fans after they announced their last time presenting together for this year.

Taking to social media, Luxmy told fans: "Good morning from the Christmassy BBC Breakfast studio. It's the last time Ben M Boulos and I are on the sofa before 2023 - thanks for your company this year and this morning!"

She then added: "Well done to those of you who've noticed the*deliberate* mistake! That should say 2024! Just checking you were paying attention - it's not that I'm a year behind..."
