Coronation Street fans work out Simon Barlow’s worrying exit storyline after Alex Bain quit soap
CORONATION Street fans think they have worked out Simon Barlow's harrowing exit sotryline.
The son of Peter has been struggling to cope in the ITV soap opera since the sudden departure of his father from the cobbles.
It has seen him find himself at a difficult period in his life with him appearing to struggle socially.
He has also seen his patience tested with show newcomer Bobby as they butted heads and failed to connect, mainly down to Bobby's cringe jokes and over-the-top personality.
Viewers of the show have also watched as Simon appears to increasingly rely on hitting the bottle.
During Tuesday's visit to the Coronation Street cobbles, Simon sought solace away from Bobby in the Rovers.

He continued to order pint after pint from Glenda Shuttleworth which has now drawn similariites to his father Peter.
With Peter being an alcoholic, some viewers are scared that Simon could be about to follow a similar pattern which could lead to his confirmed exit from the show.
Writing online, one fan theorised: "I think Simon has a drinking problem.
"I think this could play but a small part in his exit."
Another added they were "uncomfortable" with the drink-fuelled scenes as they penned: "Simon in the pub makes me uncomfortable and I feel sorry for Glenda."
A third echoed: "Simon's starting to turn into Peter with how much he's drinking lately."
The Sun exclusively revealed that actor Alex Bain had walked out of the show just weeks after his on-screen father amid a slew of exits for the show's biggest names.
A source said: “Alex is sad to be leaving Coronation Street because it really is like a family — but he realises that the time is right to move on.
“He’s very excited about the future and other opportunities.”
He landed the role as a seven-year-old and shocked fans in 2018 when he revealed he was becoming a teenage dad in real life.
Alex’s then-girlfriend Levi Selby gave birth shortly after her 16th birthday to daughter Lydia-Rose. Alex — 16 when Levi fell pregnant — was 17 and had only just sat his GCSE exams.
He has been involved in a string of controversial Corrie storylines and won the British Soap Award for Best Young Actor in 2011.
