Who is Eirianedd Munro and when did she split with Team GB Olympic swimmer Adam Peaty?
ADAM Peaty has had an incredible career, with a huge number of championship wins and world records under his belt.
He picked up his sixth Olympic medal at the Paris 2024 games, where he was cheered on by his son with his ex-wife, Eirianedd Munro. Here's all you need to know about her.
Who is Eirianedd Munro?
Eiri is an artist from Wales.
She has over 30,000 followers on her Instagram page where she posts sweet pictures of the son she shares with Adam Peaty.
Eiri also has a separate Instagram account where she posts her art, which has nearly 4,000 followers.
She says her art "aims to inspire new and progressive conversations about taboo subjects – such as mental health, nudity and identity – through the image of the physical body".
Eiri graduated with a BA in Fine Art in 2021 from Loughborough University.
It's reported that Eiri's father, Tola Munro, is a police officer at Somerset Constabulary, that her mother's name is Llywela, and she has two sisters, Carys and Abi, and a brother, Elliott.
When did Eirianedd Munro and Adam Peaty split up?
On August 23, 2022, swimmer Adam announced that he had split from Eiri.
Rumours of strain in the romance began to circulate after his appearance on Strictly in 2021.
Taking to Instagram, he wrote: "Eiri and I have decided to go our separate ways.
"We have enjoyed a wonderful three years together, 2 of those with our gorgeous son George.
"Our priority has always been to provide the happiest and healthiest home environment for him, and right now that means ending our romantic relationship.
"I could not ask for a greater mother for George and I am so grateful to Eiri for her amazing support over the last three years.
"Eiri and George, I’m sorry for letting you down.
"My only interest is for the wellbeing of our family at this difficult time so I ask that our privacy is respected and I won’t be saying anything further."
Eiri opened up about their split earlier in 2024, and revealed she had moved on after breaking up with the star who has battled depression and alcoholism.
Adam has since started a relationship with Holly Ramsay - daughter of TV chef Gordon.
Fans had been speculating that the pair are now engaged.
The swimming superstar even has a H tattooed on his chest, which is reported to be for Holly.
How many children do Eirianedd Munro and Adam Peaty have and how long were they together for?
Adam met Eiri in 2019 while training at Loughborough University, where she was also studying at the time, so they were together for three years.
The former couple share one son together named George-Anderson Adetola Peaty.
Adam announced the safe arrival of their baby boy in September 2020 in a picture captioned: "George-Anderson Adetola Peaty. 11/9/2020. 9lb 1oz.
"I’m so proud of you @eirimunro and I love you both incredibly."
Despite the split, the pair have remained on good terms.
Eiri has posted pictures on social media of George cheering Adam on as he competed for another Olympic medal to add to his collection.
Peaty narrowly missed out on gold by 0.02 seconds in the 100m breaststroke.
He burst into tears as he recalled hugging his son George afterwards and admitted he had cried so much it felt like he was "stung by a bee".
