Most people have no idea about the secret room in my house – it’s tucked away and ‘safely’ hidden by a door
A HOMEOWNER has unveiled a secret about her house that most guests don't know about.
Although she hopes she never has to use the secret for its intended purpose, she's still glad she has it up her sleeve just in case.
In a TikTok video, Meagan (@allredsathome), a home design and renovation expert, revealed her home's secret room.
"I'm sharing another one of our home secrets," she said.
Opening what appeared to be a closet door, she revealed a large silver door for her safe room, complete with a vault lock and keypad entry code.
"Just off our kitchen we have a safe room complete with a Fort Knox safe door," she explained.
After entering the code, she turned the vault and opened the door, revealing a compact room in case of emergencies.
"It's made of cinder block walls, filled with rebar and concrete, with eight inches of concrete on top," she said.
Returning to her hallway, she locked the door back up with a few spins of the vault.
"It has fresh air access with a return and is just hidden behind a door inside the hall. You wouldn't even know it's there," she said.
"Most people have no idea this room is even there when they come over. It’s tucked away and safely hidden by a door.
Although Meagan hoped that she never needed to use the room in case of an emergency, she was glad to have peace of mind.
"But really, I hope we never have to use this room but I’m so glad we have it," she said.
"We still need to clean a few things out of it, but I have moved all of our important documents and sentimental items in here for safekeeping.
"The safe room has easily became our second best investment in our home."
Viewers were impressed by the room and some wanted one of their very own.
"I need this to lock up my favorite snacks," joked one commenter.
