The 59-year-old served up plenty of controversial moments during his short stint.

Fans were raging after Gary appeared to body shame reality TV star David on the first evening in the house.

In a chat in the bedroom, Gary told housemates "not to worry" about him as "I'm not the big lad in the room" - referencing Ibiza Weekender star David Potts, who has lost three stone in recent years.

One fuming fan wrote on social media: "That comment Gary made about not being the big lad in the room.

"How many days will it take for him to use the word woke I wonder."

Another said: "'Don’t worry about me, I’m not the big lad in the room' pardon me Gary?"

Someone else wrote: "gary saying “im not the big lad in the room” was so rude and he was definitely referring to david."

And a fourth added: "'I'm not the big lad in the room..' who else caught that."

During his Late and Live exit interview, Gary spoke about his thoughts on David.

Will Best asked David: "One thing that you did say when you were here before is David has another side to him where he puts people down."

"Yeah," Gary agreed.

"Having watched it back and having seen more since you left…" Will said, asking if Gary's views had changed.

"Yeah, I might have been unfair with David. I think David is just being gregarious, fun and energetic," he explained.

"On the inside it felt like it had manifested itself as being 'it's all about me, it's all about me', but actually he's just a really nice bloke."

The audience cheered at Gary's realisation.

This comes after X Factor legend Louis Walsh slated the self-confessed 'bruncle' - bad uncle.

After the public chose to boot Gary off the show, Louis shared his thoughts with celebrity chef Levi Roots.

The chef said: "It's his first time on TV," to which Mr Walsh gave an absolutely roasting reply as he said: "And his last."

But it seemed former X Factor judge Louis, 71, was not done as he made a not-so-surprising confession to his co-star.

He admitted: "I hammed it up deliberately.

"I was hamming it up, pretending I was shocked."

Levi then wanted to go further as he pondered why Gary acted the way that he did in the house.

But Louis thought he saw right through the personality as he confirmed: "He wants to be famous."
