Four people injured after ‘serious incident’ in Stoneybatter, Dublin, as man arrested by gardai

A MAN has been arrested after a "serious incident" in Dublin this afternoon.

It is understood up to four people have been stabbed in the Stoneybatter area of Dublin 7.

In a statement, Gardai said: "We are currently at the scene of an incident in the Stoneybatter area of Dublin 7.

"A male has been arrested and is currently detained at a Garda station in the North City.

"There is no ongoing risk to the public at this time.

"Further information will be provided when available."

According to The Irish Times, the attacks are believed to have occurred at three different locations in the Stoneybatter area.

One person is believed to have been stabbed in the doorway of their home.

The suspect was apprehended nearby on Manor Place.

There is a large garda presence in the area and other emergency services have attended.

The suspect is believed to have used regular household implements in the attack.

The victims have suffered non life-threatening injuries, it's understood.
