I’m an interior designer – you need to ditch a popular but horrendous sofa, it’s uncomfortable as hell and NOT sexy
AN interior designer has revealed the popular sofa that you need to ditch.
So if you’re thinking about getting a new sofa but aren’t sure which design to choose, you’ll need to listen up.
The interior pro, Loren Kreiss, who is CEO and Creative Director of Kreiss Design & Home Furnishings, took to social media to share his thoughts on Chesterfield sofas.
Chesterfield sofas are one of the most world-renowned sofa designs - and are iconic for their large, rolled arms.
They are traditionally upholstered in dark leather and feature deep button tufting.
While you can buy Chesterfield sofas from a variety of different high-street chains, including Argos and B&Q, Loren claimed that they are ‘not sexy’ and ‘uncomfortable as hell’.

But such sofas don't come cheap - and range from £379 from B&Q.
So if you're considering getting one, you might want to listen up.
Posting on online, Loren said: “We need to talk about Chesterfield sofas, because they're absolutely horrendous.
“Unless you're a cigar smoker with a hunter's lodge themed office or the most interesting man in the world, you have no business having a Chesterfield in your house.”
He then claimed: “They're uncomfortable as hell, unoriginal, and so not sexy.
“Leather sofas are finished and the Chesterfields [are] ready for the swap.
“What do you think? Are you ready to bury the Chesterfield?”
The TikTok clip, which was posted under the username @lorenkreiss, has clearly left many open-mouthed, as it has quickly racked up 20,000 views.
Total divide
But social media users were left totally divided by Loren’s claims - while many couldn’t agree more, others were keen to disagree.
One person said: “Totally agreeeeeee.”
Another added: “So so agree!”
A third commented: “I endorse this message.”
Whilst someone else penned: “I agree. I tried to talk a customer out of putting a Chesterfield fabric sofa in his mum‘s beach home, but he insisted. It looks as bad as it sounds.”
However, at the same time, many social media users were quick to disagree with Loren’s claims.

A second chimed in: “Chesterfields are elite.”
Someone else explained: “Nope! I love mine. It fits my moody aesthetic.”
