The explosive festive episodes saw Kellie's character Linda Carter stab Keanu Taylor (Danny Walters) after he almost strangled Sharon Watts (Letitia Dean) to death.

Keanu was on a rampage after Sharon revealed Albie Watts (Arthur Gentleman) wasn't his son.

The six matriarchs of the square then worked together to hide Keanu's dead body under floorboards in Kathy's café - but can they keep their crimes a secret?

A spin-off show titled EastEnders: The Six - Whodunnit with former EastEnders star Joe Swash revealed how Kellie took the news about being the Christmas murder.

Kellie was joined by executive producer Chris Clenshaw and was left stunned at the news.

She exclaimed: "Are you joking? Oh no. I don't mind being the murderer. Oh Jesus, why have you done this to me? I didn't see that coming."

She was also seen asking Chris about the body on the floor and she was gobsmacked to learn it was Nish (Navin Choudhary) - but that he wasn't the murder victim.

In a twist, Nish was saved by Suki (Balvinder Sopal) after Denise (Diane Parish) hit him over the head with a wine bottle, and then Keanu came in out for revenge.

Chris previously opened up on how pleased he was to see how well the storyline has run throughout the year.

He said: "We’re incredibly pleased with the positive reaction to the Flash Forward and The Six storyline since February.

"It’s been a long time in the making and the Christmas Day reveal really is an episode to watch live on Christmas Day.

"We’re thrilled with the buzz around The Six. It’s exactly what we hoped for; we hoped people would chat, we hoped people would speculate, we hoped that everyone would come up with their own theories and share those theories with one another.

"We wanted it to be a storyline that brings the viewers together too, and we’re over the moon that it seems to be doing that and the audience is enjoying being a part of it."

Meanwhile, fans are anxious about Linda being the murderer as it may lead to her exit.

Taking to X, formally known as Twitter, one said: "My worry at Linda being the murderer is that this could be the end of her character."

Another wrote: "I don't want her to be found guilty and then leave. Hopefully, the girls will band together to save her #EastEnders."

EastEnders airs Monday to Thursday from 7:30pm on BBC One and BBC iPlayer.
