My husband is begging people to fork out for his midlife crisis on GoFundMe… I’m mortified, but he won’t stop
A WOMAN has been left mortified after unearthing her husband’s GoFundMe page raising money for him to partake in a daredevil sporting event.
She groaned that he is “asking people to fund his midlife crisis” for an “extreme” sport that he’s never tried, nor started training for.
According to her, it is “one of those things that rich men with too much money are known to do” - something her beau is a far cry from.
So much so, that he is requesting donations from their friends and family via social media so he can take part.
The red-faced woman took to Mumsnet forums to slam her partner and “rant” about his “embarrassing” antics.
“He's become obsessed and this is all he goes on about - for the last three weeks anyway,” she penned.

“Before that, it was smaller, cheaper sports he would do once or twice, buy all the kit, then never mention it again.
“Our shed has bikes, sports rackets, golf clubs, air rifle, model cars - you get the drift.”
But it’s not just his inability to nail down one hobby that has the woman’s cheeks burning.
She is feeling even further mortified after unearthing his GoFundMe page raising money to “fund his midlife crisis”.
“I knew nothing about it until I saw it on social media,” she continued. “Of course, he's sitting at around 1% of the total he needs.
“I honestly can't explain the physical reaction I've had to this.
“I could put my head under my pillow and not come out again.
“I'm so embarrassed that he's sharing this about five times a day to try and get people to donate.”
The doting wife has tried to encourage her husband to host events or seek sponsorship from big companies rather than beg on social media, but claims “it falls on deaf ears”.
“He's saying to people that any money over what he needs will go to charity, but realistically he's asking people to fund his midlife crisis,” she moaned.
“And by the small number of donations, everyone knows this.
“To make matters worse, this is an extreme event and he's fundraising before starting training for a sport he's never actually tried before.”
Fellow Mumsnet users were quick to comfort her, affirming that they’d “die of embarrassment” if it was their partner.

“This is awful, I'm not surprised you're cringing your a**e off,” one comforted.
“My vagina just closed up,” another joked.
