  • Who is new Man Utd CEO Omar Berrada?

    Omar Berrada has joined Man Utd from Man City as their new CEO.

    Berrada takes over from United's interim CEO Patrick Stewart - who had been in the role since Richard Arnold's exit.

    He spent 13 successful years at City as their Chief Football Operations Officer, working closely with director of football Txiki Begiristain on transfers and contracts.

    It was also during last season that City announced record-breaking profits and revenues.

    Berrada was a key player in City's Treble success both on and off the pitch, and played a big role in the signing of Erling Haaland in the summer of 2022.

    Both Ratcliffe and the Glazers made a joint decision to go with Berrada after Ineos had initially identified and pursued him.

    Before his tenure at City, Berrada was the Head of Sponsorship at Barcelona.

    Man Utd have reportedly joined the chase for Ivan Toney.

    That's according to GiveMeSport who say the Brentford striker is now of interest to the Red Devils in this window.

    Toney returned to action on Saturday, scoring after 20 minutes with a sublime free-kick.

    His club Brentford remain adamant it will take a huge offer to part with their talisman.

    Cristiano Ronaldo has urged his club Al-Nassr to sign former teammate Casemiro.

    The Portugal legend believes the Saudi club should try and entice the Brazilian with a big money offer.

    Foot Mercato claim Casemiro would entertain an offer.

    However, they add it might be complicated to complete a move in January.

    Man Utd have edged ahead of Arsenal to sign Joshua Zirkzee.

    The Bologna striker is highly rated in Italy, enjoying a breakout season in Serie A.

    And according to Sport Italia, the Red Devils have moved ahead of the Gunners for his signature.

    Bologna are also said to be looking for replacements for the talent.

    Man Utd have been warned they will have to pay a premium to sign Kyle Walker-Peters.

    His manager Russell Martin revealed: “I spoke to Kyle. I also know his agent really well.

    "There’s been no conversation at all about him wanting to leave. He’s in such a good place. I think he’s enjoying himself. It would take a lot of money to prise him away."

    Former Man Utd star Dwight Yorke believes the Red Devils should sell flop Antony.

    He told Football Accumulators: "There are always going to be question marks when you sign a player for that much, especially when they're playing for a club like Man United. Players like Antony will understand they're not performing as they should. It's tough for him and I feel for him, but it's both his and the club's responsibility if things don't work out.

    "The club has to move these players on as quickly as possible or else they'll find themselves in the same position every year - having average players signed to long contracts and not contributing what we expect of them."

    Borussia Dortmund striker Nicklas Fullkrug has spoken more about Jadon Sancho's penalty snub on Saturday.

    "Of course, [Sancho] wanted to take it," Fullkrug said.

    "He wants his first goal and believe me: it will come. But we have a ranking. Even had Emre [Can] and Marco [Reus] been on, I'd have been up there! It wasn't my first pen."

  • Van de Beek future

    Donny van de Beek played 64 minutes for Eintracht Frankfurt in there  2-2 draw away to Darmstadt in the Bundesliga on Saturday.

    The Dutchman is currently on loan at the German club.

    He made his debut last week in a 1-0 win for his new club.

    Man Utd are set to appoint Man City's Omar Berrada as their new CEO, according to reports.

    The Athletic's David Ornstein took to X to reveal the news on Saturday night.

    He wrote: "Led by INEOS with Glazer backing. Will take exec leadership of football + business, seat on board + report to owners. Highly regarded & many will see as major coup."

  • Sancho penalty snub

    Jadon Sancho failed to wrestle a penalty off team-mate Niclas Fullkrug despite "begging" his Borussia Dortmund pal for the spot-kick.

    The Manchester United loanee, 23, started on Saturday afternoon for the first time since returning to the German giants.

    And it ended in a positive result for Dortmund as they swatted Koln aside 4-0 to move level on points with fourth-place RB Leipzig.

    However, there was an awkward moment in the second half after Sancho won a penalty when he went down in the box.

    Striker Fullkrug, 30, picked up the ball as he prepared to step up from 12 yards out.

    But Sancho then went over to the Germany international and attempted to take the ball from him.

  • RyanAir poke fun at Ronaldo

    Cristiano Ronaldo has been brutally trolled by Ryanair for his claims about the Saudi Pro League.

    The Al-Nassr forward compared the league to France's Ligue 1 at the Globe Soccer Awards in Dubai on Friday.

    Reacting to Ronaldo's comments, the airline wrote: "Finally, someone funnier than us."

  • Forward targeted

    Erik ten Hag is eyeing a move for another of his old Ajax players, according to reports.

    The Manchester United boss, 53, has already signed Lisandro Martinez and Antony from the Dutch giants, while he also brought in keeper Andre Onana from Inter Milan - who played under him in the Eredivisie.

    Now he is being linked with a move for striker Brian Brobbey after the Netherlands international's impressive first half of the season.

    Brobbey, 21, has scored 13 goals and provided four assists in 25 appearances.

    According to Sky Sports, Ten Hag wants to bring the Dutch forward in during the January transfer window.

    The Red Devils boss is understood to have been in contact with the player since the summer when the possibility of a move was first floated.

    Sir Dave Brailsford has quit his cycling role to focus on Manchester United.

    He had been team principal for Ineos Grenadiers after remaining in the role following Sir Jim Ratcliffe's purchase of Team Sky.

    According to The Telegraph, Brasilford told riders and staff at winter training in Majorca that he would be stepping down.

    He has now been removed as team principal on their official website.

  • Sancho starts

    Jadon Sancho is set to make his first start since returning to Borussia Dortmund.

    The winger has been named in the starting line-up for Saturday's Bundesliga trip to Koln.

    Sancho grabbed an assist in a 35-minute cameo off the bench against Darmstadt last weekend.

    The 23-year-old has re-joined Dortmund from Manchester United on loan until the end of the season.

  • United count cost of Onana

    Manchester United reportedly paid a huge fee to keep hold of Andre Onana before he jetted off to the Africa Cup of Nations.

    The goalkeeper remained with the Red Devils for their draw with Tottenham on January 14, one day before Cameroon's AFCON opener.

    According to The Athletic, United covered the cost of Onana's flight to the tournament, which was a minimum of £79,000.

    Onana ultimately missed Cameroon's first game before starting Friday's 3-1 loss to Senegal.

    Thomas Tuchel has dealt a blow to Manchester United's hopes of signing Matthijs de Ligt.

    The Red Devils have been strongly linked with a summer move for the Dutch defender.

    However, Tuchel has now addressed the rumours, explaining: "We’re planning with Matthijs, top player and top guy.

    "Matthijs came back injured from the national team, missed all preseason. We played him too early in the Supercup, then he got seriously injured again."

  • Youngster set for loan

    Dan Gore is set to complete a loan move away from Manchester United.

    The Red Devils have agreed to send the 19-year-old to Port Vale for the rest of the season, report the Manchester Evening News.

    Gore will become the eighth loan exit from Old Trafford of the January transfer window.

    Several clubs were interested in the midfielder, who made his Premier League debut against Aston Villa on Boxing Day.

    Erik ten Hag is reportedly eyeing another raid on former club Ajax.

    Sky Sports Germany claim Manchester United are eyeing a January move for striker Brian Brobbey.

    The 21-year-old was also a target last summer and remains on United's list of attacking targets, although Ajax do not want to sell mid-season.

    Brobbey has scored 13 goals and provided four assists in 25 appearances across all competitions this season.

    Manchester United defender Rhys Bennett has joined Stockport on loan until the end of the season.

    The 20-year-old was part of the Red Devils' FA Youth Cup-winning side in 2022.

    Bennett was on the bench against West Ham in December, but has yet to make his senior United debut.

    He could make his Stockport bow away to Notts County on Saturday.
