The real reason I’m A Celeb star Coleen Rooney’s husband Wayne and TWO of their kids won’t fly out to Australia

COLEEN Rooney has shared that her two eldest sons won’t be joining her in Australia as she takes on I’m A Celebrity – and neither will her husband, Wayne.

The famed WAG, 38, is taking on the challenge of living in the ITV camp for the next three weeks, trading in the glitz and glam of her Cheshire mansion for Bushtucker trials and a hammock.

Typically, the show sees emotional reunions for the campmates with their families as they are each eliminated, with loved ones greeting them once they walk over the bridge back to reality.

Coleen is not short of people who are supporting her – not least of which her four sons Kai, 15, Klay, 11, Kit, 8, and six-year-old Cass – but unfortunately not everyone will be joining her Down Under.

Speaking to The Mirror, Coleen said: “My two youngest ones are coming over. They all had the option but the two older ones decided that they would stay at home to continue with school and football.

“I think I said when you come you’ll have to bring your work with you, and they would be missing some football tournaments, so they quickly changed their minds!”

Coleen added that the time they could potentially be over there played a role, especially when they don’t know when she will leave the jungle.

"Obviously, I would have liked them all to come out but it makes sense in a way and they both chose a wise decision not to miss out on anything back home,” she said, adding she’ll be home “as soon as the show’s over”.

“So, it’s one of those things, I put it in their hands, they decided and I agree with it really. I think it was missing the football that really did it for them, they didn’t want to miss any tournaments."

The same could be said for husband Wayne, who is currently manager of football team Plymouth Argyle, and therefore will stay at home due to work commitments.

Coleen made sure to call her husband shortly after landing, with the pair discussing their kids before her phone was confiscated.

Ahead of her trip to Australia, Coleen left behind a massive list of things to do in order to keep all her boys on schedule.

But in order to make sure those at home knows she's thinking of them, Coleen has come up with a special code as a little message when they watch the shows.

The WAG will touch her personalised £180 Cloudbox Gifts necklace with her sons’ names on it.

A source told The Sun: “The hardest thing for Coleen will be being away from her sons so she wants them to know they are on her mind.

“It’s the first time she has left them for any period of time.”

Joining the likes of GK Barry, Oti Mabuse, Corrie’s Alan Halsall and Loose Women’s Jane Moore, Coleen will make her debut on I’m A Celebrity as it launches tonight.

As is tradition with the series, the group will be thrown in the deep end with a stunt where Coleen faces heading down a river in a canoe – only for it to capsize for her efforts.
