MAX VERSTAPPEN capped off a stunning season in style by winning the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix.
His last lap of the year confirmed a historic record as he became the first driver to lead for a thousand laps in a season.
Verstappen won 19 of his 22 races this season in one of the most dominant individual seasons in Formula One history.
The Dutchman also finished on the podium in 21 of those races.
It was a less impressive showing from Brit Lewis Hamilton, after starting 11th on the grid in the Gulf State.
He managed to improve on that start to finish ninth overall.
