Man Utd transfer news LIVE: Ten Hag reacts to Forest defeat, Barcelona eye Greenwood EXCLUSIVE, Lindelof contract

  • Ten Hag on squad depth

Teg Hag said: "We overperformed last year and this year, we are underperforming. We have to do better. We know the reasons why it is not working.

"No team can deal with so many issues and injuries we have had. We should still have done better and we have depth in the squad, but when you have so many injuries, the depth is not enough.

"They (the owners) know that when I have a squad available, the results will be there. I believe that (things will improve), especially when players return. Every time you swap (players), the routines are not there.

"We went for the win and it was one counter-attack where we didn't defend but what I saw in the second half was a team. It was good to see. I saw some decent football."

"However if you want to be a big club, as Newcastle are, then you must get used to difficult games.

"We expect many players to return in January."

  • Diallo 'lined up for January loan move'

Ipswich fans are in line to make a sensational transfer swoop for Manchester United winger Amad Diallo.

Diallo, 21, impressed while on loan at Sunderland in the Championship last year.

The winger scored 14 and assisted four times during his stay with the Black Cats.

Many expected him to play a role in the United squad this year but he suffered a serious knee injury during pre-season which has seen him only recently return to training.

That means he needs minutes in the legs and high-flying Ipswich are reportedly willing to offer him the chance to return to first-team football with a loan move.

The Mirror report that Ipswich are looking at Diallo after an injury to George Hirst and the end of Dane Scarlett's loan from Tottenham.

Southampton are also set to rival the Tractor Boys to the signing of Diallo with the club sitting third in the table, five points off Kieran McKenna's side.
