Where is Jon Kay and why is he not on BBC Breakfast today?

It is unknown why Jon Kay is absent from BBC Breakfast today or his current whereabouts.

However, he did take to his X account during the show.

Instead of informing his followers of his whereabouts, he reposted his brother Oliver's post about the March Of The Day for MND over the weekend.

Commenting on the post, Jon wrote: "Massive well done to my brother Oli and everyone else who took part. #MarchOfTheDay @DarbyRimmerMND #MND."

Who is his replacement?

When the programme began on Monday, March 25, 2024, Sally was seen sitting alongside Ben Thompson.

Despite officially quitting the Breakfast show in 2022, Ben is often seen on the iconic red sofa filling in for missing presenters.

In December 2021, the journalist posted that he would be hanging up his "hard hat" after joining in 2011.

He said he'd be moving back to the global channel BBC World as he also thanked those who let them do stories on them.

He also joked that now he'd be able to avoid the cold and rain but will be keeping the BBC Breakfast sofa warm on some occasions.

"Sitting on the famous red sofa is a real privilege while covering the stories and issues that matter to our audience – home and abroad.”

BBC Breakfast editor Richard added: “Jon is a brilliant broadcaster who can turn his hand to hard-hitting news stories, celebrity interviews and everything in between.

"Already a member of the BBC Breakfast family, we are thrilled to have him join the team as a regular presenter.”
