My holiday cookie trick is life-changing but controversial – some people call it ‘overkill’ and ‘wasteful’
SOME like to keep it simple, especially when it comes to cooking others have a more maximalist approach.
One chef revealed her trick for all-out Christmas cookies, which she called dubbed life-changing.
The content creator (@creativecookingcouple_nm) shared the recipe in a video with over 1.6 million TikTok followers.
Her trick for cookies that are sure to wow? Sprinkles, and lots of it: "This holiday cookie trick is life-changing," she said.
In a baking dish, she poured out four entire bottles of red and green sugar sprinkles and mixed them up.
Next, she dipped pre-made cookie dough in the sprinkles and flattened them out on a baking sheet.
She layered pre-cut Christmas tree cookies on top of the sprinkled cookies and popped them in the oven at 350 degrees for 20 minutes.
"It's like two cookies in one but it's making it look a little more festive and fun," she explained.
"They just form into one cookie... this is so amazing, definitely great for potlucks, people will love these," she said.
People took to the comments to share their thoughts on her recipe.
"Love the cookies, they look amazing," said one commenter
Some felt the "trick" used to make the cookies was a bit wasteful.
"Seems like it’s overkill on the sprinkles, wasting a lot," said one commenter.
"I’m astonished at the waste of sprinkles. 2 jars would have been plenty but once contaminated use them or lose them. Wasteful," agreed another.
