WE’RE a chocolate loving nation home to some of the most iconic chocolatiers, including Cadbury, Thortons and Whitakers.
So naturally, when a posh box of chocolatess has been slashed in price at our local supermarket, we clear the shelves.
That includes Asda, which has recently slashed the price of Lily O’Brien’s Christmas Desserts Collection box to just £3.
And yes, it’s still £12 in Tesco and Sainsbury's, according to their respective websites.
The box contains 24 little chocs that make up a “sumptuously indulgent edition of Lily O'Brien's renowned Dessert Chocolates with a seasonal twist”.
The flavours includes Berry Eton Mess, Dark Orange, Triple Chocolate Shot and Spiced Latte.

There’s also Hazelnut Torte, Crème Brûlée and Banoffee.
If you like a tart flavour, it includes Raspberry Infusion and Lemon Posset chocolates too.
Bosses at the Irish confectionary brand described the Berry Eton Mess piece as “the ultimate after dinner delight”.
They added that the Dark Orange one “will bring some heat to the long winter evenings with its warming spice blend”, while the Triple Chocolate Shot “is the perfect treat for more intense chocolate devotees”.
The Spiced Latte truffle was carefully crafted by Lily O’Brien’s chocolate baristas, who blended double roasted arabica bean coffee with spice and white chocolate.
The Hazelnut Torte is reportedly “scrumptious”, as is the sweet vanilla custard truffle in the Crème Brûlée piece.
The Lemon Posset contains “smooth and creamy lemon truffle with a sprinkle of crunchy meringue pieces”, while the Banoffee Pie is sprinkled with toffee pieces.
The Raspberry Infusion has “white chocolate truffle infused with raspberry on a bed of raspberry truffle wrapped in rich dark chocolate”.
Shopper Sam Tarhan spotted the sweet steal in Asda’s Livingston store and altered other chocoholics via Facebook.
Lily O'Brien's Chocolates was created by Mary Ann O'Brien who “discovered her true passion for all things chocolate” after recovering from an illness in the Ninetiies.
She honed her chocolate-making skills alongside world class chefs and chocolatiers in both South Africa and Europe.
Then Mary Ann started her own mini enterprise from her Kildare, Ireland kitchen in 1992 - and Lily O'Brien's Chocolates was born.
