Watch the awkward moment MAFS UK’s Nathan clashes with Lacey’s mum saying her cooking looks like ‘something out of bin’
MARRIED At First Sight groom Nathan got himself into a very sticky situation on the show, as he told his bride Lacey’s mum that her food tastes like something “out of the bin.”
Lacey and Nathan were hosting her mum and sister for dinner so everyone could get to know each other better.
And Lacey’s mum had cooked fajitas for the occasion – a plate of which could be seen on the table in the middle.
As they all sat around, Lacey could be heard praising her groom, as she said: “He’s never raised his voice to me, he’s never called me any names, he listens to me.
“Obviously dating someone with ADHD is different but it’s helped me to be more patient and how he feels about me he shows me in actions.
“He makes me a cup of tea, he makes me breakfast in bed when I was feeling unwell and he was asking if I wanted anything.”

To which Lacey’s mum turned to her sister and said: “She’s already defending him.”
Nathan in a piece to camera revealed: “It’s really nice to hear Lacy in my defence, she seems to be becoming more comfortable with me, and everything seems to have gone well.”
But things soon took a turn, as the camera zoomed into Lacey’s mum folding a tortilla.
Nathan said: “Take it with you if you want as well because that’s awful. I’m joking, I’m joking, I’m joking.”
Lacey’s mum looked completely shocked, as she said: “His banter is coming out now.”
But Nathan didn’t leave it there, as he continued to offend the mum’s cooking by saying: “I could go ‘that looks like the bottom of a bin’ but I ain’t going to.”
Lacey could be seen in a shot off camera saying: “Nath, shut up!”
Nathan tried to confirm to Lacey and her family that it was banter, but Lacey’s sister told him: “She just gets a bit sensitive with her food you know.”
Lacey’s mum fired back: “Not even my food, I thought that was a bit rude.”
Nathan reassured her, saying: “I was joking, I was joking,” which led Lacy’s sister to encourages him to say sorry, so he did.
But it wasn’t left there, as Lacey’s mum went on: “Lacey wouldn’t speak to your mum like that, especially when she’s been cooking. It’s just not very nice and you’ve upset me now.”
To which Nathan replied: “It’s just a joke that me and Lacy had between each other.”
And Lacey’s mum responded: “But I’m not Lacy, I’m her mum.”
The new series of Mafs UK has been a total ratings success.
