Ruben Amorim has struggled for selection on the left side of his defence, with Diogo Dalot being forced to play there as a stop-gap solution.
Lecce star Dorgu is among the names discussed for an incoming deal.
Nothing has been agreed with the Serie A club over the Dane with United yet to make an official bid, but talks are progressing.
