Macron admits Olympics opening ceremony could be ‘limited’ due to security risk amid fears of ISIS attacks across Europe
FRENCH president Emmanuel Macron has admitted the Olympics opening ceremony could be cut back amid fears of an ISIS attack.
He has revealed that the sporting celebration might be "limited to the Trocadéro" or even to the Stade de France following the death cult's slew of vile threats.
Macron stated that the showpiece event - due to take place in July on the River Seine - would be limited as a "precaution".
“We will do a real-time analysis” of the risks, he said, adding that it is still planned to be held outdoors.
It follows Macron's slashing of the opening ceremony's crowd size last month over fears of a terror attack.
He reportedly asked for capacity to be reduced to half of what was planned for the mighty event, Politico reports.
Over 104,000 spectators are expected to watch the parade from the waterfront and another 222,000 watch from bridges and streets.
However, in 2022 - France was planning to welcome 600,000 to marvel at the launch of the Summer Games.
