Angus Mitchell dead at 53: Son of world-famous hairstylist Paul Mitchell ‘dies after being found in swimming pool’
THE only son of world-renowned hair stylist Paul Mitchell has reportedly died.
Angus Mitchell co-owned John Paul Mitchell Systems (JPMS), founded by his famous father in 1980.
Angus was found in the pool at his Honolulu, Hawaii home just after 6 am on Wednesday, according to TMZ.
He was pronounced dead at the scene, the outlet reported.
No official cause of death has been given.
Instagram posts from Tuesday appeared to show Angus at his home with his friends.
Multiple videos shared to his Instagram story showed the group enjoying a night of music in the home.
After his father's death in 1989 from pancreatic cancer, Angus inherited Paul's stake in John Paul Mitchell Systems - which manufactures hair care products - and its schools.
Angus learned from his famous father but also went to school to study hairstyling.
After working in Hawaii for years, he opened the Angus Mitchell Salon in 2010.
In addition to maintaining the salon's Beverly Hills location, Angus continued to work for JPMS and was also known as a model and educator.
Angus was married three times including to his current wife, Mara.
He has one child, Dylan, with his second wife, Sian.
