The waterfront neighbourhood opening one of Europe’s biggest indoor playgrounds – and flights are £18

A HARBOUR attraction just over an hour from the UK is set to be home to one of Europe's largest indoor adventure playground.

Brits heading to Germany may often opt for a trip to Berlin or Munich.

However, Hamburg is just as easy to get to get to, with flights taking around 1hr25 and costing £18.

And it's waterfront harbour district is currently undergoing a huge renovation.

This includes the new Westfield Hamburg-Überseequartier centre which will have restaurants, cafes and shopping.

But perhaps the most exciting addition to the centre will be the new Lego Discovery Centre.

The 3,400sqm attraction will make it one of the largest indoor adventure playgrounds in Europe, with 12 areas inside.

This includes a Duplo park for younger guests, a building zone, the Imagination Express train and cafe.

The newest section will be the digital Lego adventure Space Mission where kids can create their own ship and launch it into space.

The Hamburg harbour will also be welcoming three new hotels this year.

This includes the budget ibis Styles with 400 rooms across two buildings.

A new Pullman hotel will add 250 rooms, with a Novotel adding 170 rooms.

Opening next year is the UBS Digital Art Museum, which will be the largest digital art site in Europe across the 6,500sqft space.

If you fancy visiting Hamburg in the mean time, there is a lot to do in the German second city.

This includes tours of the Port of Hamburg or a number of free museums across the city.

Kids will love the Miniatur Wunderland while adults can explore the Reeperbahn Red Light District.
