Woman dies, 3 others injured in fire that breaks out in Hong Kong’s SoHo

A woman died and three others were injured in a fire that broke out in a building in an area well known for its nightlife in Hong Kong on Monday night.

The fire started in a flat at No 9 on Gough Street at Shun King Building in the SoHo area of Sheung Wan at about 10.20pm.

Thick smoke was seen pouring out of the unit, prompting nearby residents to call police.

Firefighters battled the blaze with a water jet hose and were equipped with a breathing apparatus.

Emergency personnel later found an unconscious woman. She was pronounced dead at the scene.
