‘The fall of Xbox has begun’ fans shun their consoles after exclusive games are scrapped

XBOX recently stunned players by announcing that some previously Xbox-exclusive games would be coming to other platforms.

While both PlayStation and Xbox often port games to PC, there is a rivalry between the two that usually prevents their games from coming to other platforms.

Companies often fight for exclusive games in the hopes of encouraging gamers to purchase their consoles.

Announced during the Nintendo Direct, it was revealed that former Xbox exclusives Pentiment and Grounded would be coming to Nintendo Switch.

This opened the floodgates for a number of other announcements clarifying that both games would also be coming to PS4 and PS5.

Two more formerly Xbox-exclusive games were revealed for PlayStation, as Hi-Fi Rush and Sea of Thieves are coming to PS5.

More in Xbox

Xbox fans were outraged by the announcement and shared their grievances on social media.

One person wrote: “The fall of Xbox has begun. Goodbye, It was a good ride.”

Another said: “This is a slap in the face. No other way to put it. Makes you question every exclusive moving forward.”

The main issue that Xbox players seem to have is that PlayStation and Nintendo exclusives won’t be ported to Xbox in return.

Someone wrote: “Really Xbox? So when can I expect to thrive on some Zelda and God of War on Series X?”

There have been no announcements about PlayStation and Nintendo games being available on other consoles.

Despite the negativity, a number of people have responded positively to the news, saying that this is a win for Xbox.

Responding to a post that reads: “The days of exclusivity should come to an end.

“Gaming is a better place when we can all play any game on any platform.”

Xbox said: “The biggest games will be more than just one platform.”
