And guests can experience three new attractions this year as well.

The Polar Express, a circular ride, will see guests ride on one of the 20 cars, having replaced the 20-year-old Mulan ride.

The carousel-like Race-O-Rama is for younger guests.

And the 52ft Ghost Ship, which will open in time for the May bank holiday, will swing passengers in a pendulum motion.

Other new additions include Robinson Crusoe at the 4D cinema.

However, the main attraction is the wooden rollercoaster, one of only two left in the UK.

Having first opened in 1931, the ride still has seated operator who controls the brakes.

There is also the Big Apple Coaster, a kids rollercoaster that was brought from Alton Towers in 1998.

If you need some snacks, there is ice cream at Leo's Ice Cream Parlour, sweets at Carousel Candy and hot food like burgers, hot dogs and chips at the Food Court.

Adults can head to the Pirate Ship next door, a fully licensed pub serving beers and spirits.

The Sun's Matthew Leach visited last summer - and raved about the park.

Great Yarmouth has even featured in a Hollywood blockbuster in recent months.

Scenes from the new Wonka film featuring Timothee Chalamet were filmed on the Lydia Eva boat which is moored in the harbour.

Elsewhere in Great Yarmouth you can also visit Tolhouse Gaol, one of the UK's oldest prisons, Great Yarmouth’s Hippodrome Circus, as well as Potter's Rock Factory, serving seaside sweets.

Other seaside theme parks in the UK include Pleasureland in Southport, which has a new steampunk themed land this year called Steampunk Bay.

Theme Park Tips

  1. Go to the back of the theme park first. Rides at the front will have the longest queues as soon as it opens.
  2. Go on water rides in the middle of the day in the summer - this will cool you off when the sun is at its hottest.
  3. Download the park's app to track which rides have the shortest queues.
  4. Visit on your birthday, as some parks give out "birthday badges" that can get you freebies.
  5. If it rains, contact the park. Depending on how much it rained, you may get a free ticket to return.

Southend-on-Sea's Adventure Island has revealed the brand new Time Machine thrill ride opening this year, while Fantasy Island near Skegness has the brand new Spinning Mouse XXL ride.

There is also Dreamland in Margate, which featured in it's own Hollywood Blockbuster last year.
