Sources familiar with the arrangements said on Wednesday that the passengers will arrive in Hong Kong on Thursday on three cruise liners. Many will participate in the festival and also take a tour on the city’s iconic Star Ferry.

The three cruise liners are Silver Nova, Hong Kong Costa Princess and Costa Serena. Costa Serena will dock at the Kai Tak Cruise Terminal while the other two will dock at Ocean Terminal in Tsim Sha Tsui.

Silver Nova’s stopover will mark the first time the ship has called on the city.

“There is a new and special source of visitors to the Wine and Dine Festival, which will bring in a greater variety of participants,” one source said.

The source added that the number could have been even higher, but a fourth cruise that was supposed to arrive on Thursday had been cancelled because of Tropical Storm Trami.
