M&S fans rave about the new perfume dupes, including a £6 scent for the cult favourite Chanel fragrance that’s £60

THERE'S no denying that a bottle of perfume is amongst some of the most popular gifts around the festive period.

But although purchasing branded fragrances can be quite pricey, it doesn't always have to cost a fortune - if you know where to snap up dupes.

Luckily, according to cash-savvy shoppers, the high street retailer Marks & Spencer has come to rescue yet again, offering a number of affordable lookalikes of some of our favourite scents.

One customer, only known as @dontmesswiththedupes, even claimed that the new collection of perfume boasts cheap alternatives to cult favourites, such as Jo Malone and even designer Chanel.

One such aroma that's previously gone viral - and rightly so - is the Midnight Blossom Eau De Toilette.

Priced at £6 for a 30ml bottle, this "warm" and "floral" fragrance is thought to be a lookalike for the YSL Black Opium, which will set you back by £65 for the same-sized bottle.

Meanwhile, if you're on the lookout for Coco Mademoiselle by Chanel, then make sure to try out M&S's Soft Iris Eau de Toilette 30ml.

Unlike the luxurious scent, which retails for an eye-watering £60.35 for a small bottle, the more affordable dupe is just £6, saving you over £50 - cha-ching.

The brand has also launched another dupe of the iconic designer brand - a close copy of the cult favourite classic, No.5, which sells for an astronomical £60 for a 35ml bottle.

Their Velvet Rose, £6, is no longer available online - however, it's worth popping down to your local M&S to see if there are still some left over.

Those adoring the scent of Lancôme's La Vie Est Belle Intensément Eau de Parfum, meanwhile, might want to grab the new Pink Pepper Eau De Toilette, which landed on shelves in November.

Scanning for £6 for a 30ml bottle, bargain hunters can save quite a few pennies compared to the designer's £52.

Paco Rabanne's Lady Million has remained a firm fan-favourite among many perfume fans, but priced at £56 for a 30ml bottle it's not necessarily the most affordable option for many cash-strapped Britons.

Luckily, M&S' Warm Neroli, which is going for £6 for a 30ml bottle, is said to offer the same sophisticated fragrance - but on a budget.

Speaking of real luxury without the luxe price tag, the aromatic £10 Warmth Eau De Parfum is believed to be a ''dupe'' for the Le Labo Santal 33 - a chic little number that retails for a whopping £168 for the same size 50ml bottle.

If you're still not convinced, then the positive reviews online will certainly do the job, as one said: "M&S perfume is so good.... but don't tell everyone or they'll run out."

"I got the warm neroli in their advent calendar and actually could not believe how much it smelled like lady million which i used to wear ALL the time!'' someone else chimed in.

''I bought Soft Iris without smelling it. Coco Madamoiselle was my wedding perfume. The perfect dupe to chuck in my handbag!" a third was raving about their favourite.

Another said: "Warm Neroli is my JAM I got a bottle in my advent calendar last year, literally went back and got 3 extra bottles. I wear it ALL THE TIME."
