I made an expensive-looking Roman blind using a £3 buy from Dunelm and a glue gun & it instantly made my bathroom nicer
A SAVVY cleaning whizz has shared how a simple £3 bargain find from Dunelm totally transformed her bathroom on a budget.
Revamping your home, whether that's the kitchen or the hallway, can oftentimes be quite the shock to your wallet, costing thousands.
But now one money-smart DIY fanatic, Carly, has taken to TikTok to prove that it doesn't necessarily have to be the case - all you need are some basic skills, a bit of glue and a bit of cloth.
In the video posted on her platform, the crafty whizz shared how she used a sample piece of fabric from Dunelm to make a chic-looking Roman blinds in her bathroom.
According to Carly, who regularly shares cleaning content, she'd learnt about this hack from a pal - and instantly knew she wanted to give it a go too.
The popular retailer, she explained in the clip, offers a wide range of fabrics in different prints and lengths - so whatever your preference, it's worth checking it out.

Once you've managed to find the perfect pick, it's time to come up with the design of your blinds, carefully folding the fabric how you'd like the folds to sit.
To make sure the pleats don't move and are secure in place, Carly used some hot glue whilst working on the kitchen worktop.
Another key step, she demonstrated, was pinching them together and going over with an iron when the glue had set properly.
Although initially Carly had thought of attaching the DIY blinds to the wall using Velcro, she later decided to stick the fabric to a piece of wood left over from a previous panelling project.
When roman blinds were finally ready, it was time to glue them onto the wood - but make sure it's the perfect length and the material is not hanging over for a neat look.
''Then I just used some Wickes No Nail and glued it to the wall.
''And here we have it - my Roman blinds. A cheap way to dress a window.
''This glass is frosted in this toilet, so it's perfect - and the fabric is gorgeous.''
Carly confessed that although she wasn't entirely sure if she liked it at first, the bargain project was simply something she wanted to have a go at - and knew that the results wouldn't be ''for everyone''.
Since being shared on the platform where Carly has won close to 30k followers, the clip has racked up more than 182k views in just one week.
Dozens gushed to comments to share their thoughts and praise the DIY whizz for the purse-friendly hack.
One said: ''Great idea but I’d have used Velcro at the top on the fabric and on the wood that way you can take it down to wash.''
Another chimed in: ''Was literally thinking of doing something like this with table cloth fabric.''
