Bill Cobbs dead at 90 as The Bodyguard actor was found in his CA home after starring in nearly 200 films and TV show
ACTOR Bill Cobbs has died at the age of 90.
The movie star was best known for his roles in The Bodyguard, Night At The Museum, and New Jack City.
Thomas G. Cobbs, Bill's brother, who is also a pastor, shared the sad news on Facebook, "On Tuesday, June 25, Bill passed away peacefully at his home in California.
"A beloved partner, big brother, uncle, surrogate parent, godfather and friend, Bill recently and happily celebrated his 90th birthday surrounded by cherished loved ones.
"As a family we are comforted knowing Bill has found peace and eternal rest with his Heavenly Father.
"We ask for your prayers and encouragement during this time."
According to TMZ, the cause of Bill's death remains unclear.
'HE WAS IN EVERYTHING!'
On X, formerly Twitter, fans sent well wishes to the actor's family.
"Never knew his name, he was in EVERYTHING, RIP," one wrote.
Another said, "Mr. Bill Cobbs was an extraordinary talent, an absolute legend and a gentleman. He leaves an indelible mark on TV, film and stage. May he rest in eternal power."
"Thank you Mr. Bill Cobbs for following your dreams and sharing your gifts," a third wrote.
A fourth stated, "What an extraordinary actor."
"Bill Cobbs was in so many movies! His voice was amazing. I'm going to miss him dearly," someone else wrote.
BILL'S LEGACY
William Francisco Cobbs was born on June 16, 1934, in Cleveland, Ohio.
Before starting his career as an actor, he served in the U.S. Air Force for eight years as a radar technician.
When he was 36, he fled to New York in hopes of becoming an actor.
