‘How pretty is that?’ Stacey Solomon shares genius way to make cheap pillow cover look like an expensive designer buy

So, if you're looking to give your bedroom a quick makeover in time for the warmer weather, then you're in luck...because Sort Your Life Out host Stacey Solomon has shared a cheap and easy hack so you can do just that.

According to the DIY Queen, who recently won an award for Best Popular Factual Show for her BBC home revamp show, updating your pillows is a simple way to add texture or inject some colour into your room.

However, they don't always come cheap...so the savvy mum-of-six has proven just how easy it is to make a cheap pillow cover look like an "expensive designer one" using a clever bit of DIY.

In a clip from her BBC show, which was shared on TikTok, Stacey begins by holding up an old, totally plain pillow case.

She then explains that to pull off the DIY trick, you'll also need to grab yourself some yarn, lollipop sticks and a pencil.

Speaking through the process step-by-step, the Loose Women star says that you need to design a pattern and then mark out exactly where you want the detail on the cushion to go.

"Then you want to loosely wrap some yarn around a lollipop stick and make sure you can't see any of the stick," she says, demonstrating what she means for the camera.

Once that's done, she explains that it's simply a case of adding a line of hot glue along the finished end of the lollipop, before sticking it to the pillowcase on the line you drew earlier.

After you've given it plenty of time to dry, the former X Factor contestant says it's time to carefully pull through the lollipop stick and cut out the loops to make it into ruffles.

"Keep going until it's exactly how you want it to look," Stacey advises.

Holding up the finished result, she enthuses: "Done. How pretty is that? Much better than the plain old pillow it was before."

Many were left super impressed by the TV favourite's handiwork, with one praising: "Really good - going to try this!"

A second noted: "I watched the whole episode."

Stacey is full of time and money-saving tips and tricks and recently revealed how to get your patio sparkling clean in an instant.

Taking to Instagram, she penned: “Granddad has taken the kids to the park because he’s been away and missed them.

“So I’m going to keep chipping away at getting my s**t together in the garden.”

In the clip, she started off by jet washing her dirty-ridden garden walls, before then moving onto her messy patio.

“The great spring jetwash continues," she said.

“It takes SO long to get the garden ready for summer so I just have to take it little sections at a time."

The TV personality then revealed the simple trick she swears by for making jet washing a whole lot easier.

“Top jet wash tip - start high," she recommended.

“Don’t forget the walls before the floor!

"Otherwise your wall gunk will seep into your clean floor!”
