Furious Gregg Wallace slams Celebrity MasterChef star for missing out ‘vital’ ingredient in his quarter-final dish

CELEBRITY MasterChef judge Gregg Wallace was left fuming after one star served up a plate of food with a vital item missing.

Gregg, 59, furiously ranted about the displaced ingredient on three separate occasions during the first quarter final of the series.

Steps singer H - real name Ian Watkins - had really hoped to impress Gregg and fellow judge John Torode with his plate of sirloin steak.

He served the cut of beef with chimichurri sauce, garlic butter mushrooms and vine-roasted tomatoes.

But as he plated up his food for guest judges and former finalists Kitty Scott-Claus, Riyadh Khalaf and Joe Swash, Gregg asked: "Where have you got the chips, mate?"

H, 48, replied: "There's no chips, I'm looking after your waistlines, gentleman."

Gregg shot back: "Which one is looking after your semi-final place?"

The guest judges were fans of H's steak, but Gregg continued to complain to John: "I could've done with some chips.

"Steak and...chips. Right?"

He even moaned about the missing fries when he and John were deciding who to put through to the semi-final at the end of the show.

"H gave us a sirloin steak," he critiqued. "And it was absolutely beautifully cooked.

"I wanted some chips! Some potatoes! You know, complete the dish!"

Celebrity MasterChef fans left swooning over This Morning's Craig Doyle

H had made it to the first quarter final of the series alongside radio star Edith Bowman and telly presenter Craig Doyle.

And despite disappointing Gregg with his lack of chips, he went through to the semi-final alongside Craig.

Sadly for Edith, she was shown the door after failing to impress the judges with her two-course meal.

The Scots-born star had served up beef carpaccio as a starter and aubergine parmigiana for a main, however, it did not impress them enough to make it to the next round.

Next week, a new batch of celebs will enter the MasterChef kitchen in hope of bagging a place in the semi-final alongside H and Craig.
