To make matters worse, the back door to her garden was also draughty and let all the cold air in from outside.

But the savvy woman decided to do something about when she found a genius £12 buy.

Taking to social media, she said: "I'm lucky to have a spacious kitchen in my home but it doesn't have a radiator & in the winter months my side door lets in a chill... So I came up with an idea."

The DIY whizz revealed that the only tool you need to is an electric drill as she set to work.

She first purchased a curtain from Dunelm - specifically the Thermal ones which help keep the heat in and are weight enough to stop any draughts.

While Parisa paid £24 for hers when they were marked down from £30 - they are currently available for as little as £12 on the Dunelm website.

She also need a curtain pole to complete her DIY task which she bought from Amazon for £11.99.

Parisa first began by marking where the pole would sit on her back door and then began to drill the curtain pole into the wall.

After, she attached the thermal curtains to the pole so that she could keep as much of the cold air out of her home when the curtain was closed.

"I love how it blends well with the theme of my home and it's practical too," she added.

"It's really taken away that chill from the garden."

To top off the transformation Parisa added some electric LED lights to the frame of the door as well as a curtain tie so she could pull back the thermal curtain when needed.

The product description says it's perfect for both the cooler and hotter months.

It reads: "A timeless touch to your home that will look good for years on end. Blackout curtains aren’t just for sleep.

"They also provide privacy and an elegant finishing touch to any window, make a room feel larger, and can help you save energy (and money) by keeping the heat in during winter and keeping cool air in during summer."

The clip posted to the TikTok account @parisax_ has since gone viral with over 30k views.

People were quick to share their thoughts on the winter-warming hack in the comments.

One person wrote: "Well done. Proud of you."

Another commented: "I've done this in my living room as we have a door that leads to our back porch and it let's in such a chill did this and its literally helped so much."

"Brilliant idea isn’t it & relatively inexpensive," replied Parisa.

"I love how it looks but get a much bigger plant it will enhance the space look even better," penned a third.
