Banking apps down: Payday chaos as Halifax, Lloyds, TSB AND Nationwide customers all report outages
MAJOR banking apps have gone down for thousands of UK customers with widespread outages reported.
Halifax, Lloyds, Monzo, TSB and Nationwide were just some of the banks affected, according to Downdetector.
The vast majority of customers are having issues accessing their mobile or online banking, while others are having issues making payments.
More than 3,000 Lloyds customers have reported issues with their mobile and online banking.
Halifax, part of the Lloyds Banking Group, has also been hit with technical issues, with almost 4,000 people reporting issues.
The bank said in a statement: "We know some of our customers are having issues logging on to internet banking and our app. We're sorry for this and we're working to have everything back to normal."

Nationwide and First Direct have both confirmed issues with their online banking systems on Friday morning.
Both banks said they were working to return their systems to normal.
Nearly 700 Nationwide customers are flagging problems with their mobile, online banking and viewing their account balances.
Nationwide said in a message on its website that "some incoming and outgoing payments are delayed at the moment", but that "everything else is working normally".
It said direct debits and standing orders were working as normal, but that payments were in a queue and would arrive soon, adding that customers did not need to do anything.
Meanwhile, First Direct confirmed on its website that both its mobile and online banking were "experiencing issues with payments".
Hundreds of TSB, Cooperative Bank and Bank of Scotland have reported issues on Downdetector as well.
Disgruntled customers have taken to X, formerly Twitter, fuming about the outage which comes on payday for many.
One Lloyds member said: "I've worked 2 long weeks to be paid today and now i can't access my accounts on the app or desktop site.
"It is imperative this is resolved IMMEDIATELY."
A Halifax customer fumed: "I can't get in the app!!"
Meanwhile, someone who banks with TSB posted an angry emoji alongside the message: "Well done the app is down and so is internet banking! I can’t log into to either and I need money to get to work."

Many customers have flocked to X to bemoan the pesky outages.
One fumed: "Every f***ing pay day! The banking app is down its a p*** take! #Halifax."
A second chimed in: "Lloyds, Halifax, Nationwide and several other banks down this morning.
"No access to accounts and to many it is pay day today.
"What the hell is happening with the banking system lately??"

Barclays hit by outages for second time this month
It comes just weeks after Barclays was hit by a major outage which left some customers locked out of their accounts for days.
The outage meant that customers who needed to check if their salary had been paid into their account, or pay their bills, could not do so.
Barclays said the outage was caused by a technical issue and was not related to a cyber attack or any malicious activity.
