A SELF-PROCLAIMED beauty snob has sparked a rush to Trader Joe’s after revealing the affordable skincare products that impressed her.
She shared her honest opinion on three budget-friendly items bought in a shopping haul.
Kat James (@shinebykatjames) boasts over 961,000 followers on TikTok, where she shares self-care tips.
She looked effortlessly glamorous as she spoke candidly about her experience using Trader Joe’s skincare range.
“Trader Joe’s beauty haul coming from a beauty snob,” she said.
“The dry shampoo, this actually blew me away.”
She held up the bottle containing the $4.99 dry shampoo before spraying it onto the roots of her hair.
“It goes on so fine,” she said. “There’s none of that white clumping or heaviness that’s really difficult to get into the hair.
“It’s phenomenal.”
She rolled up the sleeves of her top to apply Trader Joe’s Lemongrass Coconut body oil to her arms.
The affordable moisturizing product is priced at just $3.99.
“This is the most perfect skin glistening oil,” she said.
“When you want that really glossy glowing skin this is it. It’s sweet almond oil, olive oil, coconut oil, and lemongrass oil.
“It literally has that spa-type smell, how gorgeous this is going to be in the summer on your legs.
“Just glossy.
“Glyloclic firming body oil is up next,” she said opening the bottle.
“First of all, I can tell you it smells delicious, really, really, citrusy, bright, and clean.
“I cannot speak of the firming effects yet because I haven’t used it long enough but what I can tell you is a body butter with added glycolic is amazing on so many levels.
“So if you’re someone that has breakouts, little pimples on your back and chest.
“Glycolic will help break down the dead skin that’s trapping in the oil and bacteria, debris that’s causing that breakout.
“Also amazing for people who have keratosis pilaris, those little bumps along the back of your arms and legs.
“Using a glycolic cream on a regular basis is really going to help to keep that at bay.
“Plus this is super moisturizing and there is the lemon peel, orange peel, vitamin C, it’s going to be super brightening on the skin.
“Cautionary on this one, do not use in the sun.
“Glycolic acid can make you photosensitive.”

Kat was also delighted by the brand’s Cleansing + Conditioning hair wash which tamed flyaways without the need for other styling products.
The $4.99 wash boasts of replacing the “typical two-step shampoo and conditioner haircare ritual” with one product.
The beauty guru said the only thing she would apply to her hair after using the wash was oil to add shine.
“Final thoughts, all of those products were worth a try,” she said.
“All of them were great products but the two standouts to me were the dry shampoo which is actually just beyond.
“And the glycolic body lotion.”
“Never did I imagine I would be reviewing Trader Joe’s beauty… but alas, here we are!” she added.
