Man Utd ‘add Moise Kean to striker shortlist as they consider shock transfer for ex-Everton star’

MANCHESTER UNITED are keeping tabs on Fiorentina star Moise Kean ahead of the summer transfer window.

Kean, 25, has been enjoying a total transformation with the Viola as he has regained his former goalscoring prowess with 17 goals and three assists in 30 Serie A appearances after his arrival last summer.

And the striker's rejuvenation has turned a lot of heads around the continent with United included in the list of suitors for his signature.

According to Foot Mercato, Man Utd have added the Italy international in their transfer shortlist amid their ongoing search for a new centre-forward.

The Red Devils' list also includes Sporting Lisbon's Viktor Gyokeres, Ipswich Town's Liam Delap and Napoli's Victor Osimhen, who is currently out on loan at Galatasaray.

Kean, though, appears as a more affordable option as he carries a £42.5million release clause in his Fiorentina contract.

That is significantly less than the sum the Manchester giants would have to splash for an elite striker to take them to the next level.

However, that bargain asking price will only be valid from July 1 to 15 of this summer.

And United are facing a potential bidding war with Bayern Munich, who are guaranteed a place in next season's Champions League.

Man Utd, on the other hand, will have to win the Europa League to play in Europe's elite competition next term.

Kean has come a long way from his Everton days where he only scored a mere four goals in 39 matches during a forgettable four-year stint following his move from Juventus in 2019.

The Italian was loaned out to Paris Saint-Germain and former club Juve where he made a permanent return in 2023.
