    Gutierrez proved to be a pivotal part of the side’s late win against the Madrid side as they continue their fairytale title challenge.

    Gutierrez is a regular in Girona’s first XI, playing 20 games since the beginning of the season.

    Manchester United are reportedly keen on returning for Barcelona midfielder Frenkie de Jong after much speculation in the summer.

    According to Spanish outlet Nacional the Red Devils are prepared to submit an offer worth £77.5million to sign the 26-year-old.

    It is said that Man Utd feel that could take advantage of Barcelona's economic problems by offering a bid they won't be able to refuse.

    While the Premier League club are understood to be ready to splash the cash on de Jong's salary too to convince him to leave Barcelona.

    And with Luke Shaw and Tyrell Malacia set to return soon from their respective injuries, they do not feel Reguilon would be given sufficient game time during the second half of the campaign.

    A club statement read: "Sergio fulfilled the role he was brought in for: to provide cover for Luke Shaw and Tyrell Malacia while both were out with long-term injuries.

    "While Luke has missed the past two games with a minor injury, the England international is expected back soon. Tyrell, meanwhile, is getting closer to a return from his knee injury.

    "The versatile Diogo Dalot can also provide further cover at left-back.

    "With fewer games in the second half of the season and injured players returning, there will be less opportunity for Sergio to play.

    "It was decided it was in the best interests of all parties for Reguilon to return to Spurs."

    United activated the break clause in his season-long loan so he has returned to North London.

    Reguillon took to social media to share his gratitude for the months he spent at Old Trafford.

    Manchester United have informally sounded out Graham Potter with a view to the former Chelsea boss replacing Erik ten Hag at Old Trafford.

    While appointing a sporting director and new CEO is a priority, there are strong question marks over Ten Hag’s future at the club.

    "My programme was to come in every morning to have treatment and, after that, to go to the gym to make the work on my upper body and legs. That's what my plan was for when I was injured.

    "Lisandro Martinez helped me a lot because he was injured also. Every time, when we are at training, he spoke with me and said: 'It's nothing, Amad. Keep training hard'. Lisandro Martinez and Casemiro also. They are good leaders. Everyone helped a lot. The physios helped me a lot. So now, thanks God, I am back with the team. I am very happy."
