We made our boring new build garden a Love Island style haven with bar & hot tub, but trolls say detail ‘ruined our day’

A WOMAN has shared how she transformed her new build garden into a Love Island-style haven - complete with a hot tub and bar.

Claire took to TikTok to post a slideshow of pictures detailing the incredible makeover, as she explained they wanted somewhere they could "sit and enjoy those summer days".

They began by making a path that went around the house, with the intention of using the passageway down the side for bin storage and to "make use of the wasted space".

Next, they had the "mammoth" task of painting all the fences a dark grey, before they moved on to paving an area on top of which they'd put their hot tub.

"We decided to make the area for our table and chairs into a triangle shape to get more grass area and make use of the space best we could," she said.

They also enlisted the help of an electrician to lay some cable beneath the grey Indian sandstone, ready for the hot tub.

Next, they added a tiki bar, which Claire called "standard" for a garden transformation.

"We spent long nights in the garden trying to put together the vision we had," she said, although admitted that the digging involved in the project "nearly killed me off".

They used a "tonne of top soil" to level out the garden, before laying down some turf.

While waiting for their hot tub to arrive, they added some more accessories with a masonry BBQ.

The hot tub then arrived, at which point Claire showed off the final look - both in the daytime and at night.

"Was worth all the hard work - I spend more time outdoors these days," she concluded, adding: "I can't wait for summer again!"

"I love spending time in the garden," she added in the caption.

"Come and see how we transformed our outdoor living space."

And while the comments section was full of people praising Claire for the makeover, others used it to have their say about the garden's nighttime appearance - specifically the purple lights.

"I was on board with absolutely everything, it was like I was excited for myself even though this ain't my gaff!" one wrote.

"Then the purple lights showed up and ruined my whole day!"

Claire then replied as she said: "You’ll be happy to know as of last night the purple lights are no more!

"Be paying that off until 2054," another trolled.

As a third sighed: "Guess it's a generational taste thing!"

"Live, laugh and love standard build," someone else said.

Others were more complimentary about the transformation, as one wrote: "This is like a dream and the fact you worked so hard to make it happen."

"I thought the garden looked brill, then the transformation makes it even better," another added.

"Wow! Hats off to you for the hard work and end result.
