M&S’s new striped shirt is ‘spring ready’ – it’s superior quality but the price is just right

A STRIPED cotton shirt is a summer wardrobe essential - and if you're still on the lookout for one, best get racing to the local Marks & Spencer.

In the recent years, the popular high street retailer has really upped its fashion game - whether that's a flattering summer dress scanning at £39 or a new ''must-have bag of the season''.

And it looks like their latest addition to the aisles, Pure Cotton Striped Collared Shirt, is no exception, already proving to be a major hit amongst shoppers.

The shirt, which is available both in their Regular and Petite section, features a navy striped design that would look perfect with a pair of jeans or white trousers.

The wardrobe essential is particularly perfect for a smart-casual collection and it boasts neat collared neckline and a button-through fastening.

Meanwhile, the long sleeves end in buttoned cuffs for a refined finish - however, you could just roll them up for a more relaxed fit with a white vest underneath layered with gold jewellery.

The shirt, which sells for £25, also comes in three other designs and prints - baby blue with white stripes, white with light pink stripes, as well as blue with white stripes, so there truly is one for everyone.

Although the shirt runs in a number of sizes, ranging from UK 6 to UK 24, the spring and summer must-have has already become so popular amongst fans some sizes are no longer available.

So, to avoid any disappointment, it's best to act quick and head to the nearest M&S as soon as possible - or check the availability via their Find in Store search.

Gleaming in dozens of positive reviews, the wardrobe staple - which is said to run ''a little big'' - has received an impressive four-star rating online.

One fashionista wrote: ''This is a lovely crisp cotton top. Looking forward to wearing it with jeans / leggings.

''Bought a size 12 instead of usual 14 as found bigger size a little on the large side.''

'I'm buying them tomorrow' say Primark super fans about their new denim heels which are giving major 'Zara' vibes

Another chimed in: ''Very stylish shirt, great quality and fit, excellent on its own or worn as an over shirt.''

Someone else said: ''Good quality, soft fabric.

''Perfect to wear with jeans. Very generous size and length. I'm a size 10 but the 8 fitted well.''

However, it's also worth noting that whilst the reviews were encouraging for the most, there were also a few shoppers who were disappointed with their purchase.

One unhappy style lover said: ''Too big and baggy. Shame as fabric feels good quality.''

''Lovely shirt but unfortunately had to be sent back as it was much too long,'' a second warned.

''I’m not sure I like the material, it is a bit shiny, I expected it to be a cotton feel,'' a customer penned.
