And travel website Matador Network, named Cavtat as one of their top 10 destinations to visit in 2024.
Rather than the busy clubs and bars people might expect from elsewhere in Croatia, Cavtat is a more laidback holiday destination.
The medieval sits on the waterfront of the southernmost tip of the Dubrovnik Riviera, with by two harbours lined with cafes and stalls.
Along with the Michelin Guide restaurant Bugenvila, which serves fresh seafood and tiramisu, most cafes will offer classic Mediterranean dishes, along with pizza and pasta.
Also in the old town are a number of historic attractions to visit including the 15th century St Nicholas Church.
Previous tourists have raved about the town, with one person saying its was "one of the most beautiful places they'd been".
They added: "Absolutely feel in love with Cavtat. It is the most beautiful place.
Another person said it was like "paradise on earth" while others said it was like a "step back in time" with its old fashioned stores.
But leave the town to find a number of pretty pebble beaches, which have both beach bars and tiny hidden coves - with Beach Bar Little Star having the best sea views.
Many of them have sunloungers and umbrellas you can rent when it gets too hot, or you can take some shade in the many trees lining the coast.
If you really need to cool off, watersports are popular with tourists too, such as snorkelling, kayaking and parasailing, or you can rent one of the boats from the harbour for a day trip.
The best time to visit for the town's festivals is between June and September, with a summer festival throughout.
This includes a Summer Carnival in July, as well as a the musical Epidaurus Festival and live "klapa" singers in September.
Not only are there great festivals, but temperatures often hit 30C in the summer, with more than 10 hours of sunshine a day.
There is a range of affordable B&Bs and fancy 5* hotels to choose from in Cavtat.
This includes the 5* Hotel Croatia and the Boutique Hotel Villa Pattiera, or more affordable stays from £38 a night.
It's easy to get to Cavtat too - you can either get the number 10 bus from Dubrovnik which takes around half an hour or a take a 10-minute taxi from Dubrovnik Airport.
Flights from the UK to Dubrovnik take around three hours, and can be found for as little as £27 each way with easyJet.
Otherwise TUI has cheap four-night breaks for as little as £267pp, including flights, hotels and breakfast.
Don't worry about any strict rules for Croatia either - you won't need a visa and you only need three months on your passport.
Just make sure to get it stamped when entering and leaving the country - and make sure you don't take any meat or milk into the country due to EU laws.
While visiting Cavtat, make sure to stop in at Dubrovnik too which has been dubbed the Pearl of the Adriatic - and you can get an easy boat between the two.
