Ben's co-stars were genuinely gutted to see him go with Andi Peters and Richard Arnold fighting back tears at numerous points.

Ben shared snapshots on Instagram featuring him and Susanna over the years, showing the laughs they had and the Ice Bucket Challenge they did together.

He captioned the post: "Only seems like yesterday when @susannareid100 and I first sat next to each other at the GMB desk.

"10 years have flown by. Back on the southbank we’d often head outside in the sunshine which was always a treat - (as long as the signal worked) tech issues aside the constant has been the laughter.

More on Ben Shephard

"So many memories, so many moments but so many laughs. Thanks for putting up with me, helping me, guiding me and mostly laughing with me. I’ll miss you and those moments on air, but know we’ll have plenty more off air!"

One fan commented: "I'm going to miss you on GMB, Ben. Good luck on This Morning."

Another added: "Good luck Ben Shepherd on your new venture.."

A third penned: "Such a special guy Ben Shephard and I adored how you looked after Kate throughout her trauma with Derek.
Take care buddy."

Susanna, Ben and Kate Garraway hosted the breakfast show together for a decade, from 2014 to 2024.

Kate recently made a return to radio after her late husband Derek Draper passed away.

He tragically died on January 5 following a four-year battle with Covid.

Upon returning to Smooth Radio, Garraway paid an emotional tribute to her beloved husband by remembering the song played at his funeral.

She played 'Your Song' by music icon Sir Elton John - who led a heartwarming performance on the day.

Ed Balls is the frontrunner to replace Ben as the new Thursday to Friday host of Good Morning Britain.

The former MP often hosts the show, so he knows what he is doing and knows his way around the studio.
