Balamory actor in major career change that is worlds away from the popular noughties BBC kids show

A BALAMORY character has made a huge career change that's words away from the beloved kids show.

The legendary CBeebies series was set in a fictional Scottish village with happy-go-lucky characters like Miss Hoolie and Suzie Sweet being favourites with young viewers.

It ran for four series between 2002 and 2005 before it was cancelled by TV bosses.

Kim Tserkezie - who played Penny Pocket alongside Susie - was a fan-favourite character.

But almost 20 years on from Balamory, Kim has revealed an entirely new career path.

She's officially left acting after going back to uni and is now a fully qualified integrative psychotherapeutic counsellor.

The now 50-year-old took to social media to thank those who supported her along the way.

She penned: "It’s been no small task to manage around my TV & film work, but this has truly been the most incredible & transformational time of my life.

"I’m so grateful to all who have supported me to get here."

Posing with her official registration certificate, she added: "My practice & studies in psychotherapy & commitment to Mental Health will now continue.

"I also look forward to all the further ways this will inform & connect with my work in the screen industries."

Meanwhile, Julie Wilson Nimmo - who played preschool teacher Miss Hoolie - also has a new career.

She runs a 'Soulful Sunday' class on Scottish beaches Ruby Bay and Elie.

The groups, which are run throughout the country, promote yoga and sea swimming as a natural form of therapy.
