Bizarre airport trend that has seen passengers sprint through terminals – and people aren’t impressed
SHOCKED travellers were baffled at this bizarre airport trend that has seen passengers sprint through terminals.
Holidaymakers waiting to jet off from Dublin Airport were surprised when they saw a man trying to burn a few calories before boarding - but some weren't impressed.
The passenger, sporting a full work-out kit, was spotted doing laps around departures for at least 30 minutes.
Someone, known as Garychamp on Reddit, posted: “While down at the gate, I noticed a man in full running gear (t-shirt, shorts, runners), running laps up and down the full length of the terminal passing in between passenger’s and their luggage while waiting to board their flights.
“The airport was also busy at the time so there was quite a lot of people about.
"The guy was sweating profusely while running — he was doing a significant number of laps around the area.”

The odd sighting garnered hundreds of comments from puzzled Reddit users.
One penned: “Has anyone else seen this before? Was the guy going to shower before getting in the flight? Imagine being stuck beside him for six plus hours on a flight."
“Imagining this dude just [stenching up] a middle seat after running 26 miles,” another wrote.
However, it appears fellow holidaymakers are taking part in the trend too.
A recent traveller commented: “Just yesterday in Doha Qatar I saw a woman in full running gear doing laps of the (admittedly massive) terminal and wondered what on earth was going on."
Meanwhile, fitness influencers and apps have even started plotting work-out routes through Airports for gym-mad passengers.
There is in fact one in Dublin Airport, provided by the app Strava, which takes runners on a 0.2mile circuit.
According to the stats, a user named Len K has achieved the best recorded time at 1 minute and 24 seconds.
Strava also rolled out a route through Denver Airport named "gate change gnar".
The Narita International Airport in Tokyo also opened a running track themed terminal eight years ago.
Fitness obsessed travellers at the BWI Marshall Airport can also stretch their legs around the “cardio trail” - using American Heart Association walking paths.
