‘Real reason’ Holly Willoughby’s show Freeze The Fear was axed revealed by co-host Lee Mack
HOLLY Willoughby’s ice challenge show Freeze The Fear was canned because it was boring, co-host Lee Mack claims.
The pair presented one series of the BBC show in 2022 — but it was axed after a frosty reception.
Comic Lee, 55, said: “Celebs in cold water did not make as exciting television as they thought.”
Gabby Logan and footie ace Patrice Evra were among stars taking on sub-zero tasks under the tutelage of health guru Wim Hof.
Despite its flop, Lee said: “I liked it.
"I was booked to be the cynical comic.”

He also told of coming under fire after filling in for Bob Mortimer on BBC show Mortimer & Whitehouse: Gone Fishing.
He told Richard Herring’s podcast: “There are three things people love about that show.
"They love Bob, Paul and fishing.
“They did not get Bob and they did not get fishing as I am a vegan so I got an absolute kicking for that.
“I am starting to think people don’t like me… vicious people.”
