‘Truly brilliant’ gush Netflix fans as they binge-watch ’10/10′ new drama – warning ‘it’s impossible not to cry!’

NETFLIX viewers have hailed a new German sci-fi series as ‘truly brilliant' and have warned others who want to watch it to get their tissues ready. 

Since the four-parter dropped on the streaming services platform on March 7, it has climbed up the charts and currently sits at number five.

The Signal tells the story of astronaut Paula, played by Peri Baumeister, who disappears while returning to Earth from the International Space Station.

While in space, Paula encounters an unimaginable discovery. 

Back on Earth, her husband Sven, played by Florian David Fitz, and their daughter Charlie, played by Yuna Bennett, are attempting to piece together what happened to her. 

As they try to decipher messages from Paula, they suddenly realise that what they are receiving is top-secret information that could put their lives in danger. 

The official synopsis for The Signal reads: “When an astronaut mysteriously vanishes during a mission, her husband goes to investigate while navigating life as a single parent to their daughter.”

The limited series is filled with mystery and tear-jerking moments that are being raved about on social media. 

Taking to X, one viewer penned: “I’ve just finished watching the limited series The Signal (Das Signal) on Netflix. Wow. Watch it. A story of love, humanity and hope.

“I dare you to have a dry eye by the time the final credits roll.”

A second user added: “Watch The Signal on Netflix! It gave manifest vibes first episode, but it was so good… just four episodes, gets right to the chase.”

“The Signal was a good series on Netflix. To me!” commented another person. 

Elsewhere, others who weren’t enjoying the series didn't hold back either, as one said: “Downvoted Netflix the signal. You lost me when you started to put down Trump.”

Another complained: “No offence, Netflix, but you brought me back with a cheaper offer promising that you would stick to quality series.” 

Elsewhere a writer from Decider suggested that his audience stream the series as he penned: “The Signal does a good job of splitting its story into two storylines that are well-defined, bringing the viewer along on the show’s central mystery in a way that keeps them interested without jerking them around.”

While, a Paste Magazine reviewer had opposing views about The Signal.

They wrote: “Early on, it builds up intriguing mysteries, doling out secrets in the past and present that carry massive implications.

“However, the series doesn’t ultimately pay off these out-of-this-world discoveries.”

After binge-watching all three seasons in just one day, Netflix viewers have also recently praised an 'underrated' apocalyptic series. 

Although the show titled The Rain was released on the streaming service a while back, it is now receiving the recognition it deserves.
