Cindy and George were already seen getting close on EastEnders after they shared an illict kiss and it did not take long for word to get back to his scorned fiance, Elaine Peacock.

Elaine was left aghast at George's betrayal especially given his many recent ups and downs that she had supported him throughout.

The snog also put a strain on Cindy and Ian's relationship which he admitted to his mum Kathy that he was battling "to save" in tonight's episode.

During the latest trip to Walford, Cindy was left reeling as she learned that her daughter Anna had been brutally mugged in the street by a masked man.

She raced over to The Vic to be with her family much to Ian's dismay.

With Anna reluctant to give a statement to the police over her attack, Cindy and George began working together to track down the CCTV of the assault.

Although it gave little away, they went back to where George is currently staying to talk through their next moves as they got cosy once again.

As the night began to draw to a close, tensions between the duo reached fever pitch as they attempted to avoid the obvious chemesty bubbling between them.

Things came to a head when Cindy decided to pay her boxer ex-hubby a gushing compliment.

She said to him: "You know, you've got more handsome!"

Aware of the growing tension, he attempted to deflect before gazing down upon Cindy and saying: "You're not bad yourself.

"Oh come on, you are gorgeous and you know it."

As Cindy made her way to the door, George stretched his arm above her as they shared a stolen look with one another.

Realising they were getting carried away, he showed her the door as they stepped outside with one another.

Lurking in the shadows was George's son Junior who was keeping a beady eye on what his randy dad was getting up to.

As Cindy and George said goodnight to one another, she gripped his bicep as she asked: "Remember when it was just you and me?"

She caressed his arm as George moved his head closer to hers.
