United ‘discuss’ Calvert-Lewin
Dominic Calvert-Lewin has been discussed as an attacking target by Manchester United this summer.
According to Sky Sports, the Everton striker is one of a number of forwards spoken of at Old Trafford.
Calvert-Lewin is into the final year of his Toffees contract.
However, striker is not currently a priority position for United in the current transfer window and a move is unlikely unless a player leaves the club.

Almiron talks
Charlotte FC have launched an approach to sign Miguel Almiron from Newcastle, according to Fabrizio Romano.
Talks have been held in London over the deal, with the MLS transfer window ending on Wednesday.
Almiron previously spent two years in the MLS with Atlanta before joining Newcastle in 2019.
During that time, he scored 22 goals and provided 21 assists in 70 appearances for the club.

Medicals completed
Matthijs de Ligt and Noussair Mazraoui have both completed their Manchester United medicals, Fabrizio Romano reports.
Contracts are now set to be signed ahead of their moves from Bayern Munich.
Both players will sign in time to make their United debuts against Fulham on Friday night.

Zubimendi rejects Liverpool
Liverpool have become the latest club to be rejected by Martin Zubimendi.
The Real Sociedad midfielder has previously turned down moves to Arsenal and Bayern Munich.
Zubimendi is now open to signing a new deal with the Spanish side, according to Fabrizio Romano.
The report adds that their contract proposal is considerably lower than Liverpool’s.

Gallagher stranded
Conor Gallagher is stranded in Spain as his move to Atletico Madrid from Chelsea hangs in the balance.
The Blues have even been asked to pay £15million to push through the sale of their vice-captain.
A £50million deal had appeared close to completion, only for Chelsea's signing of Atletico striker Samu Omorodion to collapse.
Instead, Chelsea have now been offered Joao Felix, but at £15million more than the £35million agreed for Gallagher and Omorodion.

Brentford sign Carvalho
Brentford have completed the signing of Fabio Carvalho from Liverpool.
The midfielder has signed a five-year deal through to 2029 with the option of a further year.
Carvalho spent two years with the Reds after signing from Fulham in 2022, making 21 appearances and scoring three goals.
He had spells on loan at RB Leipzig and Hull last season.

PL clubs miss out
Fiorentina have completed the £8.5million signing of midfielder Amir Richardson from Reims.
The Moroccan international had been linked with several Premier League clubs this summer.
However, he has instead penned a five-year deal with the Serie A side.
Everton were understood to be amongst the clubs in England to be keen on a move for the 22-year-old.

Zubimendi release clause
Liverpool have reportedly told Martin Zubimendi to trigger his own release clause.
The Reds have hit a stumbling block over a fee in their negotiations with Real Sociedad for the midfielder.
Zubimendi has a £51million release clause, which can only be activated by himself, meaning he would have to deposit Liverpool's fund to La Liga's offices.
The Times report Liverpool are keen to end the transfer saga and would like the Spain international to trigger his own clause.

Alvarez joins Atletico
Julian Alvarez has completed his move to Atletico Madrid from Manchester City.
The Argentine forward has signed a six-year deal with the Spanish giants through to 2030.
Alvarez scored 36 goals in 103 appearances during two seasons at the Etihad Stadium, winning six trophies including the treble.
He could make his Atletico debut on August 19 as they begin their campaign away to Villarreal.

Nketiah exit off
Marseille have backed out of their pursuit of Arsenal striker Eddie Nketiah.
According to Fabrizio Romano, the French side were not willing to meet the Gunners’ £26million asking price.
Lens forward Elye Wahi is instead edging closer to joining Marseille, with a fee agreed for the player.

Manchester United are reportedly continuing talks with Burnley over a move for Sander Berge.
Sky Sports have claimed that the shock move could still happen before the Premier League season starts.

David de Gea has insisted he is now motivated to play after signing for Fiorentina.
He also hailed Manchester United after signing for the Italian side.
He said: "Man United is a top, top club and my heart will always be there.
"I never thought about retiring, it was just difficult to find motivations for new chapter after 12 years at a top club like Man United… and I finally felt that at Fiorentina."
