Experts from UNDP informed Turkmen students about the interconnectedness of gender equality and climate action

On April 22, 2025, Earth Day, the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) in Turkmenistan held an educational session in Ashgabat for students of the International University for Humanities and Development of Turkmenistan as part of its year-round campaign "Gender Equality – a Path to Peace and Trust".

The main focus of the event was the interrelation between gender equality and climate action, emphasizing that effective climate change measures must consider gender aspects.

UNDP experts discussed the organization's comprehensive approach, which aims to ensure that women not only adapt to climate challenges but also become leaders in sustainable solutions.

This includes promoting the development of women's entrepreneurship and the creation of environmentally friendly businesses by women.

Providing women with the necessary knowledge and opportunities for leadership in climate change issues, especially in the process of developing adaptation strategies, serves as another step towards building a more sustainable and inclusive future.
