Coronation Street fans blast soap bosses for ‘ruining’ character – ranting ‘I hope she leaves and never comes back!’
CORONATION Street fans have blasted soap bosses for 'ruining' a character' - ranting 'I hope she leaves and never comes back!'
It's a bit of an understatement to say soap fans care deeply about their favourite shows, and characters.
Whether its not having enough screen time, or the way they are being written, soap fans do not hold back in sharing their opinions of characters.
For some Coronation Street fans, Alya Nazir has become a concern in recent weeks.
Taking to Reddit, one Corrie fan wrote: "This character is being ruined! She’s got to always be in someone’s business sticking her nose in acting miss prim and proper!
"Just seen a spoiler that she’s now interfering in Joel and deedee’s relationship!! Wish she would just do one off the cobbles! She’s a right little witch!"

Another agreed, writing: "She's a pain in the arse. Takes things wayyyyy too seriously and is massively offended at every turn. Not her fault, she gets s***e stories and c**p lines."
The original poster replied: "She is a hypocrite she watched a man die with her brother. can’t wait for her to leave! Hope she never comes back."
Actress Sair Khan has played Alya since 2014 but will be taking a break from the soap in the near future to go on maternity leave.
Sair, 36, revealed the happy news that she is expecting her first child with partner Nathan Chilton back in December.
The actress shared a snap to her social media of her cradling her growing bump while standing in the garden looking up at Nathan.
Sair told fans it was a "real mix of emotions", with the happy news coming amid Nathan's health struggles.
She shared: "Hello… It’s been a little while since posting on here which has been a real mix of emotions.
"With all that is happening in the world it didn’t feel like the right time to share but we also know it’s okay to keep hope and pray for peace whilst acknowledging that we feel blessed and grateful.
"Last year was a challenging time for us both with Nathan’s chondroblastoma surgery on his pelvis.
"It’s been a long road to recovery and still has many obstacles ahead as we deal with the spread of the tumour to his lungs.
"Life can be difficult and there’ll always be challenges to face but there are also important lessons to be learnt and gifts to be cherished.
"We’re so excited for the arrival of Baby Chilton in Spring 2024."
