The husband, wife and cocker spaniel May were found dead, and a rifle was seized from the property semi-detached house in Morfa Crescent.

They were called to the scene at around 2.50pm after neighbours had raised the alarm.

The couple had been named locally yesterday but police have now officially identified them.

They rang the couple’s daughter who arrived on Saturday to find both parents and their pet dead from “serious wounds”.
