Boyband star revealed as latest name to sign for Strictly Come Dancing

JLS singer JB Gill is the third celebrity to be officially announced for Strictly Come Dancing.

X Factor finalist JB, 39, joined presenters Josie Gibson and Craig Doyle on ITV's This Morning today for the big reveal.

Josie and Craig teased clues throughout the show, saying there would be a "big sparkly reveal" with, not one, but TWO celebs being unveiled.

Earlier in the installment, blind comedian Chris McCausland was confirmed as the first Strictly contestant after The Sun's story over the weekend.

JB's clue showed somebody pouring water into an X Factor branded coffee mug.

Josie then told viewers: "We can reveal that the second celebrity taking part in this year's Strictly is JB Gill."

The One Shot hitmaker said: “I danced in the Strictly Christmas special over a decade ago and loved it, so when I got the call to join Strictly this year, it was an immediate yes from me.

"I’m raring to go to and looking forward to showing off some new skills to the JLS boys.

"From muddy wellies on the fields of my farm to sequins and Glitterballs - I’m here to embrace it all!”

JB danced with Ola Jordan in the 2012 festive installment.

In recent weeks, she has come under fire for 'bullying' Steve Backshall during their time in a show couple.

Steve, 51, reportedly lodged a complaint with the BBC in 2014 about his show partner, 41, claiming he found the practice sessions gruelling and difficult to endure.

Following his complaint, he and Ola were assigned a chaperone after he refused to be alone with the Polish dancer, MailOnline reported.

The programme's bosses intervened after Steve alleged that her "rude and impatient" manner had undermined his confidence.

JB is set to join celebs including ex-footie ace Paul Merson, 56, and DIY SOS’s Nick Knowles, 61, in Strictly’s line-up.

Team GB star Tom Dean let slip he was the first Strictly contestant hours after winning Olympic gold, as he confirmed The Sun's story.

Strictly’s 20th anniversary special will air next month despite ongoing probes into dancers including Giovanni Pernice and Graziano Di Prima over conduct towards partners on the show.

The BBC said: “The celebrity contestants for the new series will be announced in due course.”

JLS formed in 2006, but shot to fame in 2008 when they auditioned for The X Factor.

They went all the way to the final in the competition, with Louis Walsh as their judge, but they narrowly lost out to the series winner, Alexandra Burke.

They were offered a recording contract with Epic Records and went on to have huge success with singles like Everybody in Love, and Beat again.

In 2013, JLS announced to their fans that they had decided to go their separate ways following a farewell album, tour and book.

However, luckily for fans they reunited in 2020 and have been together ever since.

Along with being in JLS, JB has also enjoyed a successful TV career as a presenter.

Since 2017, he has been part of the presenting line-up for Songs of Praise.

JB also enjoys life as a farmer, on his working farm in Kent.
